Byggcement Plus Skövde

Byggcement Plus Skövde is a Portland composite cement, CEM II/B-M (P-LL), manufactured in Skövde.

Byggcement Plus Skövde is a cement that also contains natural pozzolan. Natural pozzolans have reactive properties similar to cement clinker and can therefore replace part of the clinker in the finished product.

Unlike cement clinker, natural pozzolan has a low climate impact. Adding natural pozzolan to Byggcement Plus significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions.

Byggcement Plus Skövde can be used in most common concrete work, such as house construction, where climate-improved concrete is required.

• Natural pozzolans are volcanic materials that have cement-like properties and are used as additives in concrete and mortar. The best-known natural pozzolans include volcanic ash, which has been used since ancient times to improve the strength and resistance of building materials. The volcanic material is extracted from Heidelberg Materials' quarries in Iceland, where it is available in large volumes and is therefore a long-term resource.
